The chiming chords bring so much appeal to this piece, something that has a certain symmetry with ‘Stupid Girl’ by Garbage. Add in a Kate Bush plume of etereal vocals and what emerges is something so uplifting it is positively soothing. There are echoes of the Cocteau Twins for sure but there is a clarity here that was often absent from those dreampop greats. A Toronto duo (sometimes trio) with the potential to make 2019 their own.
