Spooky Cigarette – In Due Time

Spooky Cigarette had me thinking of Phil Collins and his take on ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, music wise at least because elsewhere there is an indie boy, Frank Mindingall, singing his heart out and doing so in such a softly loquacious manner. Inevitably I was quite taken in by it all. Motown might be a calling such is ‘In Due Time’s classic shuffle, but there is more than a little of the Specials and Blur’s Damon Albarn to make for a little contemporary gem of a three-minuter. KH
