‘The Gold’ has such a jaunty disposition, a clean as a whistle roll call of winning ideas that extends from Harrison Kipner’s central performance where he fidgets and agitates purely for our pleasure. The music too has a Future Islands retrobility but it never rests on its laurels, so wherever listeners join the song they know they are in for a damn good time, varied and full of nuance. Phewsers.
