Andrea von Kampen has a voice to send a tingle down the spine, she also conjures a simple soundtrack that subtly highlights that precious talent of hers. There is something liberating on ‘Julie’, in a world that seems stuffed with superfluous nothingness. Good voices are everywhere of course but this Nebraska singer appears to be the embodiment of integrity as well. Makes us excited for Von Kampen’s ‘Old Country’ LP, which is due in early 2019. KH
