Though ostensibly quiet this track somewhat startled when it kicked into gear. Perhaps it is the retro stylings, the crisp production or just a set of cherishable vocals that attempt to fix the world of its ills in a few short minutes. Whatever it is ‘I Wonder’ amounts to a magical effort, I just wanted to hug the next person I encountered. A simple joy from the California duo of Helyn Rain and Jeffrey Left, whose debut album ‘Clapped and Cat-Called’ is streaming through the tree everywhere now. KH
