I do like the opening, the mystery and the idling about in search of something more tangible. That comes when the words pour forth is a slow manner a la Washed Out. At first it is not at all about the big kick or the epic crescendo and ‘Dark Mark’ prefers to noodle and forage for neat but restrained ways to entertain us. It reminds me of Mew a lot, a band who also deal in deliciously awkward patterns. There is post-rock going on with a dreampop swell giving us the big moments. A fine effort from this Nashville based trio. KH
