A number of acts have been preoccupying us in 2018, willolux for one and another Canadian artist (from Hamilton, Ontario) called Gareth Inkster whose ‘Last Year’ is likely to be our song of the year. Gareth’s debut EP (also called ‘Last Year’) is out today and we’re honoured to premier this track from it called ‘So Long’. Typically there is plenty going on and though the detail only reveals itself after several inspections it should be abundantly obvious that this kid can write a killer tune. The EP is a quieter and more studied affair compared to ‘Last Year’, but that just gives us ample opportunity to inspect the intricacies (arranged by Inkster and his brother Robinson). A rare and joyous talent. KH
