As ever New Yorkers Deep Sea Peach Tree offer more than just a blaze of sepia-tinged colour, there is Pavement circa ‘Summer Babe’ with spirited Beach Boys harmonies. And it all sounds effortless and that rare opportunity to get lost in the music. So much so that you may not even notice how Kristof Denis’ vocals somewhat go off-piste on occasion, like freeform jazz but inhabiting a hazy indie landscape. KH
