What a twinkle twinkle little star of an opening from K.C. Maloney (aka Adult Karate), a bright eyed and wondrous start. ‘Del Mar’ does broaden its scope when the vocals emerge and so we get something that has a widescreen and technicolour reach. Feels like it is pushing new territory but doing so at its own pace and set off beautifully by Canadian singer Adaline providing the guest vocals. ‘Del Mar’ may need a movie to add a visual to the coordinates laid out here, pulsing provocatively like Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush for a new and perhaps more grandeur century.
