Perhaps we’ve just run out of good band names he remarked snidely to himself. Thankfully that rude observation was cast aside as soon as ‘Funny Turns’ revealed how its best trick occurs when the loud action grabs the listener completely by surprise. This clever move is a reminder of Blur at their pomp and is such a youthful expression of the possibilities of the loud/quiet dynamic of yore. ‘Funny Turns’ comes from thinker and dreamer Ed Wetenhall and marks his debut single as Ed the Dog.
