Much of the bubbling intention on ‘Liars’ happens below the surface early doors, before the roof is blown on a chorus so well-oiled it could likely turn rust to gold. I thought I had lost it around the 2 1/2 minute mark but then that sense of persuasive beats and cool cooing from Dave Raymond just reeled me back in again. This is a gorgeous groove from the Chicago collective, the title track from their new album ‘Liars’ out in mid-May. KH
