‘Cabarete’ is one of those compositions with an abundance of energy, tunesome chords and a voice so warm it could feasibly replace a winter radiator. The piece is dedicated to a tourist town in the Dominican Republic that has a quaint exterior but a seedy underbelly. Not that you could tell from the cascading rhythms and lightness of touch in evidence here. Imagine Coldplay without the histrionics and then just soak up that spike in the happiness index. KH
