This reminded me of the whimsical brilliance of Willy Wonka’s, all colourful musical dashes courtesy of the exotically named Britt Warner and Jordan Waré. And it certainly has more adult themes with which to haunt and inspire us, not surprising given that it was inspired by the death of a parent. Much of the wonder comes from a singer who effects a heartbroken Karen Carpenter caught up in an wondrous electro soup. There are drop dead beautiful textures and a chorus to weep along to, a mood setting Christmas soundtrack to inspire us to be better at being nice. KH
