‘Paradise’ is one of those tunes that has been playing for a couple of minutes before you take it in and realise that you’ve been listening all along, in a subconscious my god this is wonderful way. That’s because it is quiet and demure but packs so many powerful emotions it will cut through the outside noise before finally taking up residency in your daylight psyche. So demanding is it of your attention that by the time the brass kicks in you may well be in floods of tears at the simple genius of it all. Daniel Trakell’s new EP is out next month so his neighbourhood in Melbourne may way shut down for a time to lavish in its demure ways. KH
