Although it is quite obvious that London duo are mining Camera Obscura territory that doesn’t make ‘Elusive Youth’ any less attractive. There a couple of reasons for this, first and foremost this song has a chorus that will sweep you off your feet and secondly Amelia Rivas and Christian Pinchbeck have that strained partnership down to a tee so the emotions are all too real. With the commendable Memphis Industries pulling the strings Elephant’s upcoming debut album is sure to be one of saving graces for 2014. Expect plenty of shimmering skyscraping over the next few months. KD
