A Beacon School – Bamboo

Have been watching with interest as this New York ensemble unfurl. There is a ragged glory to them that can’t be faked which could mean they are enormously talented and that debut album that they are hinting at for 2014 should be something to behold. For me there are elements of our very own Sunbear, shoegaze meets attention to melodious detail in other words. This will quickly take root in your heart, which probably explains why it is called thusly, as much for lines like ‘resist the urge to tumble down the rabbit hole’ as the spontaneity in the playing. Patrick Smith sings like all indie boy heroes should which seals the deal on a genuine prospect for next year. KD
