It’s over in half the time it takes a 3-minute wonder to work its magic but somehow this effort from the Twin Atlas has charmed. Sadly it looks like the duo behind the song are no more having thrown in the towel after a decade together from 2000 to 2010. There’s a certain symmetry to that ending and given the curvaceous way Sean Byrne and Lucas Zaleski could turn a melody it is particularly apt. Their ‘Good Light’ album of 2009 is resplendent in endless highlights that recall a quieter Jesus & Mary Chain or an even lovelier Teenage Fanclub. Earthy RIYL’s then, the stuff of hugger’s dreams.
