Such a spirited affair from Brooklyn’s New Moods, a 4-piece who channel the intensity of hard house through the prism of an ambitious indie soulseeker. It’s quite a dichotomy that ought not to work but this Saturday at dusk it has become quite the wiggle inducer. New Moods back catalogue is as bare as a student pantry yet you can’t escape the feeling that they are bursting at the seams with ideas. And I’m basing that on ‘Playtime’ alone, a song that might find itself satisfied while bathed in the blinding attention of a dozen lazer beams. There’s a genuine cognitive streak in the vocals which veer between anthemic Underworldness and a mournful Jimi Goodwin of Doves. KD

Note to New Moods: I headed straight to your Bandcamp page to buy this, and see what else you had available…. $5 for two tracks?! Sorry, but that’s just greedy. I’m making do with downloading this track for free.
It does say it is a 7″ but $5 would seem quite cheap for ye olde vinyl.
