I’m not one to question the wiring of ones brain but for some reason I pictured the Winter Sounds as being nothing less than a Scottish act. As it turns out they are a Nashville based, Georgia bred proposition that centres around the frenetic energy of leadman, the admittedly fully kilted sounding, Patrick Keenan. This might not be the hardest working band in indiedom but they do have some previous in the marathon tour stakes which has doubtlessly helped in crafting the pummelling glory of ‘The Sun Also Rises’ from new album ‘Runner’. A new dawn to remember. KD
