They’ve changed to Bleeding Rainbow but we’ll forever prefer their original naming convention. And that’s from someone who never once set eyes on the US children’s programme of the same name, so my preference is purely based on the sound the old moniker makes when tripping from my mouth. Of course the noise that trips from theirs is altogether more interesting, especially when it arrives fully decked out in all manner of fuzz poppery. And the Philly band play it for real with their endless pursuit of the perfect 7-inch release. In truth they don’t need vinyl to give tunes like ‘Dead End’ a sense of the decade it borrows from. A confection of imperfection. KD
