From the off this reminded me of Aimee Mann and Michael Penn’s sublime cover of the Beatles ‘Two of Us’ (see the vid below). Such is the vocal chemistry between Annie Lynch and Andrew Michael Buri and the clean, almost simplistic ideas it was never going to be anything but a winner. Annie & The Beekeepers were formed on a winters day in Boston back in the mid noughties and have since decamped to the capital of bright new sounds, Brooklyn. They’ve taken to using Kickstarter to fund various escapades, including a tour in the UK and the recording of their new album for which ‘My Bonneville’ is the title track. Savvy backers indeed given the triumphant sound that has emerged. KD
