The brief was simple, take Teenage Fanclub’s (Gorky’s really but we prefer the most northerly version) criminally short ‘Christmas Eve’ (where the vocals only drift in with about 25 seconds to go) and turn it into something approaching egg timing capability. And as is their gift the Idaho collective went off and completed what seemed like mission impossible. ‘Christmas Eve’ initially caught our attention way back in 2000 when it completed what was a quadruple serving of glorious new festive ditties (the others being Low’s ‘Just Like Christmas’, the Dandy Warhols ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and Grandaddy’s ‘Alan Parson’s In A Winter Wonderland’) and now the Very Most have gone and squeezed more fun out of this tiny tim of a tune. Thanks for the post here! It’s worth mentioning that on guest vocals, we’ve got Darragh Nolan of the wonderful Irish band Sacred Animals.
Crikey, you are quicker off the mark than the Web Sheriff. It’s not you is it?
