This has a definite ‘A Man Called Sun’ era Verve feel to it, but given that that particular song was released on a EP that is now 19 years old let’s instead celebrate the new boys (and girl) in town. They be a threesome from Maine called Old Soul who have just released their debut album which can be downloaded gratis from their bandcamp. And an impressive listen it is too, one that recalls early Gomez (‘Bring It On’ majesty) and a whole host of other genre bending voyagers. ‘Seven Suns’ is a laidback charmer, so unhurried you will likely pause from the spin dryer intensity of modern living for its duration.
