I don’t know about the rest of you but as I get older I am finding life increasingly busy. Or to put it in grown-up terms there is less time to spend on doing the stuff I really love doing. Namely, spending hours on end listening to songs from bands I’ve never heard of and falling in love with some of them. Not that that particular pursuit is especially fun but the rewards are worth it. So as the volume of non-blogging activity upped considerably in the last 6 months so did my concern that I was missing out on bands like Snails. Thankfully though, a window of opportunity presented itself this week to peruse a couple of dozen tracks I’d received lately and this is when Snails slid into earshot. The Bristol duo are a relatively new proposition having parachuted in from other collectives I’m not entirely familiar with. Anyhow, they will have a piece of vinyl for sale pretty soon that’ll contain 2 songs (yep, a piece of material that is heavier than most iPods that contains only 2 pieces of music), one of which is this arresting piece of artistry called ‘She’d Like An Hour’. The song is put together in a fashion that would embarrass most veteran embroiderers, that is to say it is a colourful number capable of skewing artfully on its own axis towards the end. We’re impressed enough to contemplate shelling out our hard earned on Snails. KD

This is shockingly amazing. This is the greatest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
It’s quite the cutie alright. A bit eccentric too which is always nice.
