Oh swoon. Yet another free album (name your price) that is so full of priceless tunes it’s a wonder it hasn’t been pulled up by those who enforce the trade descriptions act. Canadian Matthew Niemann does what most of these fascinating home produced geniuses do and leaves us with little in the way of background but since his music is already there he probably doesn’t want to complicate matters. His album ‘Wuts Goin Thru Yer Head’ came out last year but will probably sweep all before it this year when it is released on cassette via the Geographing label. It really is a job to select highlights because the LP is just one long list of them but the incessant prettiness of ‘Turn To Me’ and shoegaze note-perfectness of ‘Winter Was Warmer’ will be by our side for the longest time.
