Here We Go Magic is Luke Temple’s second foray in the music business having recorded 2 albums under his own name before hastily retreating to his boudoir with a computer and knocking us for six with a psych drenched classic. ‘Pigeons’ was the follow up in 2010 and saw the now 10 legged groove machine drift into unfamiliar territory as less esoteric songs emerged from the purple haze. Well, the transformation appears complete going on the evidence of ‘Hands In The Sky’ which will be part of a new EP in May called ‘January’. Not that this subtle shift is any less enjoyable, in many ways it could lead to even greater wow in the Here We Go Magic bag of tricks. ‘Hands In The Sky’ could almost be Radiohead if they were to a tad more conservative with the melody wasteland that is their electronic dabbling. The tune has a rapid inner momentum that is somehow partially hidden from view while Temple’s voice has never sounded so vulnerable. KD
