The now departed De Rosa from Glasgow were signed to Chemical Underground and like true nationalists never softened their brogue to bailout international ears. So it took a few go’s before lyrics could be deciphered and while it’s not exactly family friendly ‘Under the Stairs (Xmas Reverie)’ turned out not as stark as I’d originally imagined. Words aside this is a really nice tune, in keeping with the season it is all softly lit and open to mistimed handclaps if you’re party to such admissions of jollity over the next few days. KD
