Grand Canyon – From The West Side

On the face of it Grand Canyon appear about as cool as a spent in the national park they are named after. Despite this I can’t help falling for this little number, I could imagine it seeping from a dark and sweaty bar of a Saturday night. Once inside it seems that beards are the clothing of choice and cider the drink despite the sub zero temperatures outside. Our initial apprehension is soothed through copious bourbon and the bands unrivalled eagerness to please. 1 hour in and Grand Canyon sound like they are running through hit after glorious hit and as we threaten to storm the stage they encore with ‘From The West Side’. For tonight only they become our favourite band and at least one of the bearded folk may someday make a fine godfather for our future offspring. KD
