This is just one of those tunes that got me from the getgo. Probably because of its shoegaze genes but celestial vocals in general also have that effect on me. Languis are based in Los Angeles but started out in Argentina and have a decade long career behind them already. This treasure is taken from a 2006 EP of their’s called ‘Other Desert Cites’ and is most reminiscent of the Reading shoegazers of yore Chapterhouse. The band recently released a new album called ‘Fractured’, their first in 4 years. We’ll also feature their side project Psychic Powers here in the next 24 hours. So it seems times are changing alright, right back to the early nineties if you were going on this evidence. KD
