I’m a bit of my depth here. Not having seen the Dig! documentary I am finding it hard to articulate about this band without sounding like an idiot. Formed in 1990 they have had 40 plus members pass through their ranks (some of whom would go on to form such luminaries as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Dead Meadow) with Anton Newcombe being the only constant throughout. BJM have led the archetypal rock-n-roll lifestyle and it shows in their music, which is a classic marriage of stoned psychedelia and proper songwriting constructs. But they are not stuck within these confines and their albums can often be sprawling affairs shifting between several genres. ‘Geezers’ is taken from the 2003 LP ‘And This Is Our Music’ and should not really be attempted outside a comfy state of drunkedness such is its hazy demeanour. And there are plenty of gems where this came from which leaves you with a band well worth exploring. KD

I don’t think anyone in Dead Meadow was in BJM. Dead Meadow <>did<> tour with BJM, however. So that makes them part of the family.
Yeah you are right. I think they have shared the same producer so it is a tenuous link. Thanks.
I am a huge BJM fan and recommend all their stuff which by the way you can download for free from their website (mp3’s). The whole discography if you desire. I highly recommend “Thank God For Mental Illness”…. download it all < HREF="http://www.brianjonestownmassacre.com/mp3.html" REL="nofollow">here<>
