Besides being mentioned in one of Grandaddy’s most sparkling moments Alan Parson’s never achieved the success he deserved. Parsons cut his teeth in the music industry as a studio engineer and was involved in the making of such classic as ‘Abbey Road’ and ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’. Parsons talents didn’t end there, however, as his ever shifting collective the Alan Parson Project has to date released over a dozen albums. ‘Don’t Answer Me’ was a worldwide hit, no doubt helped by the sweet and clever animated promo. Eric Woolfson provides the heartfelt vocals, pouring all his emotions into a wonderful performance. The chorus is solid gold and as you’d expect the musicianship is vibrant especially the arresting Clarence Clemonseque sax. KD
