Postcards may well be from Beirut but they’ve nailed the Glasgow sound so completely that you can’t help but dream of Camera Obscura and Belle & Sebastian. ‘Freediving’ stands up to indie pop scrutiny in its own right too, through a combination of sweet jangle, joyous chanteuse and the hint of experimental shoegazing taking up the rear and presenting us with a little darkness amid the utter glee. Its success may well depend on how ready you are to be heartbroken. KH
