Submotile – Tailspin

I loved the confusion at the opening of this shoegaze piece, reminded me of fellow Irish noiseniks Rollerskate Skinny who patented a near ear splitting sound with deep entrenched melodies. My Bloody Valentine were undoubtedly the pioneers so in an attempt to fully grasp ‘Tailspin’s textures I switched from speakers to earphones. My goodness it was expansive and too short, but then there is so much going on it takes a good half dozen listens before you’ve tamed it. Stunning stuff from the Dublin based Submotile principles of Daniela Angione and Michael Farren whose debut EP ‘We’re Losing The Light’ will be with us soon. KH
