A smooth and persuasive piece of low-ebbed funk from an Los Angeles act who’ve been hibernating for almost two years. Finger clicks, bass bumbles and Ted Wendler’s voice levitating above the velvet din. Swearing is always a good thing in these situations because the soft dynamics mean it is quite unexpected. ‘Spirits’ is a comforting swell of noise that has dancefloor nuance to boot. Dreams do come true after all. KH
