The sort of song that could play endlessly in your local indie tavern and no one inside would likely raise an eyebrow. Whether it was designed by this Auckland band from deep inside or from an approximation of the bands and sounds that influenced them hardly matters. And the good news is that the album it is taken from, 2013’s ‘Ages’, is ripe with similar low slung delights that hardly push the envelope but are indelibly stamped with memorability. Hardly surprising then that Flying Nun Records are working behind the scenes in pushing this great new band. KD
