Echo and the Bunnymen are back for what seems like the 98th time. This time however they are revitalised and producing material as sharp as ‘The Killing Moon’. In a departure from past comebacks though they’ve decided to cut the hair, increase the botox levels, decamped to London and change their name to Childhood. What a brave bunch but the overhaul has resulted in a song that befits the best of their anthemic selves. ‘Seldom Skies’ boasts a great chorus, the punishing beat propelled momentum of a Doves tune and could yet become one of the songs of year. Not bad for a set of young lads still on the lookout for a label. Bring on the dancing horses. KD
