Maston – (You Were) In Love

Frank Maston first came to our attention for his work with So Many Wizards. Not sure what they were like but I read the PR email before moving on. Seems our Frank has plenty of mileage on the clock and with a list of quality influences under the hood how could his debut LP ‘Shadows’ be anything other than a joy. That it was delivered via grooves that could only be played by a diamond tipped needle made the experience all the more special. ‘(You Were) In Love’ certainly touches on the Beach Boys but not so that you’d quickly revert to the original because Maston brings plenty to the party. Tonight you’ll have to make do with a single indie pop wizard. KD
