He’s up there with Bradford Cox in the prolific stakes, in fact my computer is so full of his compositions I can’t go half an hour before the random shuffler throws up a Bill Baird ditty. Better known for the short lived but excellent Sound Team Baird has toiled away under his own name but more regularly as Sunset. Albums routinely appear (5 since Sound Team ended in 2007 as well as myriad of other releases) with a cavalcade of winning ideas, melodies are dispatched like confetti amid the rush and tumble of orchestrated awkwardness. ‘Your Eyes Are Mirrors’ is taken from 2008’s ‘The Glowing City’ and display’s Baird’s preferred bumpy road approach, he could quite easily strip down to the beauty inside but instead presents a hard exterior. Wouldn’t have it any other way though. Some day soon his masterpiece will be upon us and with that a back catalogue that is presently near abandoned will be given all the love it craves. KD

One of the Most Underrated Live Bands of the last Decade. Very happy to have seen them as many times as I did.
Glad you dig Mr. Baird’s work too. Did you ever heard any of his remixes of the Sound Team stuff? Quite good. I recommend, “No More Birthdays.”
Great stuff Ryan, I think I might have that remix actually. Cheers, must check it out again. Oh, and btw did you hear the Christmas song Bill did for us a couple of years back?
