I’d hazard a guess and say that New Brunswick’s the Delfields are no more for their myspace and official site are both wiped from all but search engine cache’s (thankfully their bandcamp comes to the rescue). Tis’ a shame really because the foursome, while slight in their boat pushing, were an attractive addition to the dreampop canon. On occasion their free ‘Bedroom Girls’ LP of last year drifted into full-on whimsical mode yet when 8 of your 9 songs are written about different girls there was never going to be a hormone deficit. ‘Julie Jupiter’ and ‘Emily’ are both glorious indie pop number however, the former sailing so close to Blondies ‘Sunday Girl’ it’s just as well we’ve featured it at this end of the week. My favourite jaunt is ‘Emily’ however, owing to its perfect jangling waddle and note perfect fey vocals that have become the mainstay of the genre. KD
