We’ve bowed to their superior Stone Rosesque charms before and now they’re back making like it’s 1990 with a 7-inch called ‘Sleeping Beauty’. This time it’s more (good bits) Second Coming, a lolloping delight with a bolshie chorus that could shift the clouds from the night sky. Can’t imagine how they make something so noisy so damn tunesome but they succeed with aplomb. This is the sort of swagger Kasabian can only fantasise about, the sort of knowing sneer that Oasis were once capable of drawing and the sort of idolatry that must make Ian Brown feel very good about himself. A lesson in how to rewrite your heroes in a most flattering light. KD
