Anna Ternheim - I'll Follow You Tonight

Of late I seem to have fallen into some sort of parallel universe inhabited purely by sweet acoustic female vocalists. With her softly plucked guitar swaying not too dissimilarly to Nick Drake and a voice that unfurls seemingly live beside you Anna Ternheim is proving to be another multi-talented citizen. Ternheim is feted back home and recently picked up several Swedish Grammy Awards. ‘I’ll Follow You Tonight’ is sparse and affecting and was recorded alongside the 9 other tracks from her debut album ‘Somebody Outside’ on an island off the coast of Sweden. Ternheim is adept at recreating the scared little girl, which can lend a chilling aspect to the music, which would otherwise prove quite comforting. Dark and enchanting.
